The Joy of Play: Painting Loose & Free
Saturday Workshop with Jenna Cooper
Shake Off Intimidation
Bring back the joy of painting instead of thinking about what you *think* you should be painting. This workshop will help you to loosen up as you're kindly forced to rely on your artist intuition.

In This Workshop, You'll Learn:
This workshop is all about shaking off the intimidation of what you think you should paint and bringing back the joy of play!
The first exercise is painting a still life in various time intervals to loosen up and be kindly forced to rely on your artistic intuition.
The second exercise is a "Mystery Painting" where the instructor presents a blurred image that students will be painting and every 20 minutes the image becomes sharper, until it becomes clear. Students will have no idea what they're painting until the very end: a wonderful surprise!
Topics covered:
- to paint intuitively and confidently
- to quick sketch with paint
- trust your artistic instinct instead of worrying about the outcome
- to paint what you see, not what you think you see
- that perfectionism is a joy killer!
Students will walk away with 7 still life studies, a beautiful painting to be proud of, and a renewed joy of painting! -

About the Instructor
Jenna Cooper
I am an abstract artist that makes genuinely joyful, bright, fun original artwork that is full of movement, color, shape and texture. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Drawing, Painting & Printing from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, studied art at Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy and owned a gallery of my own, Glory Art Gallery & Studio, in 2018. Now, I’m happily married to my college sweetheart and we have two little boys running around. They are my little inspirations!
I love teaching painting and drawing to students who desire to get out of their own head when it comes to creating and feel free to make art with joyful wonder. My goal is to put the technicalities that confine the mind to the side and help my students trust their intuition and have fun! One of the biggest joys I have is seeing my students full of confidence by the end of my classes. So thankful to share my love for art with you!
What Our Students Are Saying
"Structure and fun is not usually combined in an instructional class, but Kristen does an amazing job at both! Thank you!" – Jen K.
