Make It Work: Color Mixing Basics for Artists

Thursday AM Class • Level 2

  • In This Class, You'll Learn:

"If one says 'red'—the name of a color—and there are fifty people listening, it can be expected that there will be fifty reds in their minds. And one can be sure that all these reds will be very different."
    – Josef Albers

In this class, instructor Nicole Rixon will help guide you into the world of color and break things down into simple concepts.

Join us as we explore how to

    • see and identify colors in the world around us
    • learn more about paint and which colors to buy
    • make colors "pop"
    • mix muted tones that are rich not lifeless
    • achieve ultra-bright and vibrant colors
    • ...and more!

Students will walk away with the skills they need for creating yummy color — regardless of what medium or style they work in. Most importantly, students will find confidence to make thoughtful choices in their own artwork.

Come ready to experiment, mix paint, and see your art in a whole new way!
