Saturday Workshop with Shirin Nikoukari

  • In This Workshop, You'll Learn:

    Create a small and funky work of abstract art on strips of wood—Basquiat style​!

    Discover the world of Basquiat and how artists can bring everyday life subjects and concepts into our artwork.

    Students will walk away with a super cool and very unique work of art and Shirin will show and help you get it ready to hang at home.

  • Supply List

    This is a studio workshop and students will be using the supplies they bring.


    • Bring all your paints and brushes
    • Shirin will bring the wood
    • Posca markers optional but recommended
    • Palette paper
    • Quality paper towels

About the Instructor

Shirin Nikoukari

I started painting when I was young. I moved to the United States in my 20's and mix my Persian culture with my abstract inspirations. The pomegranate is a sacred symbol for me and often shows in my work as well as Persian Calligraphy. As I have evolved, my work has become more abstract.​
