Special Studies

Wednesday AM Class

  • In This Class, You'll Learn:

Klimt and Schiele. Gilded and twisted.

Take a deep dive into the life and creative process of two famous figurative artists, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele. One the mentor, one the student.

They couldn't be more different with their figurative work: Klimt went the romantic route with lavish colors, gold, and very ornamental patterning. Schiele went the erotic route with exaggerated forms, raw human expression, and darker tones.

Yet despite their differences, they have just as much in common. Join Shirin as she guides you through their world and creative process—as well as their differences and similarities.

Plus, you'll be learn a little about gold leafing (supplies provided by the instructor for $15) and one week, the class will have a drawing session with a live model ($10 model fee).

This will be a fun-filled class you won't want to miss!

About the Instructor

Shirin Nikoukari

I started painting when I was young. I moved to the United States in my 20's and mix my Persian culture with my abstract inspirations. The pomegranate is a sacred symbol for me and often shows in my work as well as Persian Calligraphy. As I have evolved, my work has become more abstract.
